Squat with Leg Raise
To do the Squat with Leg Raise, start standing tall with your feet about hip-width to shoulder-width apart. Then squat down, sitting your butt back while keeping your chest up. Make sure your heels stay on the ground and that your first move is to sit back. Squat as low as you can then drive back up to standing.
At the top, shift your weight on to one leg and lift the other leg up and out to the side. You can use a little momentum to lift but feel the outside of your glute working to lift your leg to the side. You may also lean slightly but don’t turn it into a move where you are completely bent to the side at the waist. Try to stay as tall as possible as you lift. Also, do not rotate the leg open as you lift just to try to lift up higher.
Then squat back down before performing a leg raise to the other side.
