I like vegetables. I like healthy food…
But at the same time, if I could eat crap every day and be healthy and feel good, I’d probably do it.
I’m not one of those people that innately just wants healthy food.
Honestly, for a good portion of my life, I just tried to out exercise a bad diet. And I got away with it for a really long time when I was training and competing.
But at some point, you…
A. Realize you can’t out exercise a bad diet.
And B. Realize you do want to take care of your health.
That being said, I’ll never be one of those people satisfied with never having ice cream or chips. Or always only eating in moderation.
And I think it is important that while we always work to improve ourselves, we also come to know, understand and accept ourselves for who we are.
Now knowing this about myself, I realize that in order for me to be consistent, I can’t restrict. I can’t make foods off limits. I can’t try to eat “too clean.”
Consistency is key. And 80/20 can help you find a balance.
So if you’re like me and you’ve SABOTAGED yourself in the past by eating too clean, you may want to read this.
